This is a set of guidelines in recommendation for implementation of Devanagari fonts, intially for character combinations and glyph coverage in all kinds of Devanagari fonts. Currently this document is in crude text form, but later would include illustrations and samples & recommended visual styles. Recommendations are open for comments suggestions and debate (in practical & pragmatic form).

The recommendations are categorised in different levels with the following intentions

• Access - through code points, character standards
• Readability - whether the character combinations or glyphs
• Frequency - usage frequency,

Level 0

Basic Unicode coverage.

• Should cover the complete unicode range
• Basic consonant - vowel combinations.
